Remembering Ray Charles

So I popped onto Google this morning and they always have those pics in the logo for special occasions and today one of the o's was replaced with Ray Charles, being his birthday and all.

Why do I feel such loss when I think about this guy who I never knew but know his music so well. Anyway it seemed odd that just seeing this simple drawing of his face in full swing would evoke any emotion in me whatsoever.
